“SLOW SEATING- CONTEMPORARY CHINESE DESIGN” At Fuori Salone Exhibitions (Outside of Milan Furniture Fair), one catched our attention, a project which pays tribute to Chinese design & creativity. The project was curated by renowned Chinese designer Zhu Xiaojie, and shows us some new face from the asiatic giant. In words of Mr. Zhu, whom selected over 60 Chinese designers to reflect upon the significance of the chair, theme of the exhibition, as an object apt for meditation & rest. “Chairs are symbols of “home”, a place to slow down ….. think about our purpose, our families, & our lives. MOTHER NATURE INVADES THE MILANESE “SALONE DEL MOBILE”. The biggest international design fair, Salone del Mobile in Milano, this year keeps going green, not only trying to save water or energy with the new desings. It goes green also by fulling everything with real plants to decorate, and using wood in a quantity of objects, sometimes imitating its form, colour and aspect.
ARCHITECTURE & FASHION, MUSEO SOUMAYA The new Museum Soumaya – Carlos Slim Foundation in Mexico D.F. is a new urbanistic monument in one of the biggest cities in the world. The building structure looks like a shiny silver cloud reminiscent of a Rodin sculpture, was designed by the Mexican architect Fernando Romero, and engineered with Ove Arup and Frank Gehry.
