THE FASHION LADY PASSED AWAY.
Today 7 August, Anna Piaggi has passed away. Anna Piaggi was the eccentric woman who can wear anything, probably she was the one who started eccentricity in the fashion system. She dedicated her career to the fashion world, as fashion was not only her work, it was also her life. With just four pages per issue at Vogue Italy, she wrote about fashion foundations, and she had the talent of summarizing all season trends with just a few words and some images.
She was never afraid of colour, prints and mixes, she knew how to put everything together an create a perfect outfit. She was muse and fan of Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld and Manolo Blahnik.
With her book “Fashion Algebra”, she leaves one of the most important writings about fashion and its creative process. And as Bill Cunningham says «I think she’s a poet with clothes, a very fine poet»
Vogue Italia Editor in chief Franca Sozzani published on her twitter, ”23 years of working together, thousands of D.P. (Double-page spreads) realised together. You will always be remembered Anna,”
Stephen Jones was one of her best friends, and created hats for her all the time, for him she was an inspiration, a friend, and a perfect mannequin for his creations.
All the fashion industry pays tribute to this Lady, and we remember her influence, her legacy, her outfits and her smile.
Anna Piaggi rest in peace.
